Admission vs the WallFreeSchool course

Official NIOS admission is done by you on the NIOS portal. The WallFreeSchool course is a separate preparation and guidance program. They are two different things.

Official NIOS admission flow

1. Check eligibility and choose the correct stream.
2. Plan your 5-subject combination carefully.
3. Keep valid documents ready.
4. Apply on the official NIOS portal and pay official fees there.
5. Save your confirmation and reference details.

Streams — basic understanding

Stream 1

For regular fresh admission in Senior Secondary. Relevant for standard NIOS Class 12 admission.

Stream 2

For learners meeting specific conditions — such as part admission after passing Secondary, or those who could not clear/appear in a recognised board exam. Needs careful official verification.

Stream 4

For the Senior Secondary On-Demand Examination (ODE) route, for eligible students in eligible subjects. Subject availability can change.

Documents generally required

• Recent passport-size photograph and signature
• Valid identity proof
• Class 10 marksheet/certificate
• Address proof
• Category/disability certificate, if applicable
• Failed marksheet/admit card, if applying under certain streams

Common mistakes to avoid

• Choosing the wrong subject combination (e.g. CS + Physical Education together).
• Submitting incorrect or incomplete documents.
• Missing official deadlines.
• Relying on outdated fee or rule information.
